Prize rules
These prize rules govern Bantasy contests that offer a prize. They form part of, and should be read with, the Terms of service and the Privacy policy. Where these rules conflict with the published rules of an individual contest, the individual contest rules prevail for that contest.
1. Bantasy contests are games of skill
Every Bantasy contest is a game of skill. Entrants compete by applying knowledge, research and judgement — selecting and managing lineups, predicting sporting performance, and ranking on a points-based leaderboard. The winner is the entrant whose skill produces the best score under the published scoring rules.
- No chance mechanic decides any outcome. We do not use random draws, lotteries or chance to determine winners, placings, prizes, prize amounts or any reward.
- Ties split the prize equally. Where entrants tie, the prize for the affected placings is pooled and split equally among the tied entrants. We never use chance to break a tie.
- Bantasy is a game of skill, not a lottery or a pooled-entry competition.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or over and hold a valid Bantasy account in good standing.
- Prizes are only available in eligible jurisdictions. Whether a contest offers a prize, and whether you may receive one, depends on your location. Cash prizes are available to eligible players aged 18+ in supported regions. Availability depends on your location — some regions are glory-only (contests run on a skill-only, no-cash basis), and prizes are always subject to local law. Eligible regions and any per-jurisdiction conditions are as published on the Eligibility page and/or in the individual contest rules.
- Bantasy employees, contractors and their immediate families may be excluded from prizes where required.
- We may require identity, age and location verification before paying a prize (see Section 7).
3. How you enter — Bantasy Bucks, and no purchase necessary
- Contests are entered using Bantasy Bucks (BB) — the multi-use in-app currency of Bantasy, spendable on cosmetics as well as being used to enter contests. Bantasy Bucks have no cash value and are not redeemable, not transferable and cannot be withdrawn (see the Bantasy Bucks page and the Terms of service for the full terms, including the 90-day rolling expiry).
- No purchase is necessary to play or to be eligible for a prize. Bantasy Bucks can be earned for free (for example through registration, daily check-ins and referrals). Free, bonus and purchased Bantasy Bucks enter the same contests, on identical terms, with the same chance of winning and the same prize. Buying a subscription or a Bantasy Bucks top-up is never required to enter.
- A subscription buys genuine software features (private leagues, analytics, extra slots and similar); Bantasy Bucks included with a subscription are a free loyalty bonus incidental to the software — not a sale of entries. Bantasy Bucks may also be bought as an optional convenience top-up: a purchase of the multi-use in-app currency issued by Bantasy as the operator of the service — not a purchase of contest entries or of any advantage.
- The amount of Bantasy Bucks you use to enter does not buy a bigger prize, a better placing or a better chance of winning. Entry never determines the prize (see Section 5).
4. How winners are determined
- Each contest publishes its scoring rules and the points period before entry.
- At the close of the contest, entrants are ranked by skill score under those rules. The highest-ranked eligible entrant is the winner; lower placings are determined by rank.
- Where entrants tie, the prize for the affected placings is pooled and split equally among the tied entrants (see Section 5). Ties are never broken by chance.
- We determine results in accordance with the published rules and, where judgement is required, reasonably and in good faith. We may void entries or disqualify entrants for collusion, multi-accounting, bug exploitation or other breaches of the Terms.
5. Prizes — company-sponsored, pre-announced, never a share of entries
- Prizes are sponsored and funded by Bantasy from its own resources. A prize is not a share of entrants' Bantasy Bucks, entries or fees.
- Prizes are pre-announced and fixed before entry:
- Public contests (open to non-members): a fixed, company-sponsored prize amount per competition, published before you enter.
- Private leagues and challenges (created by a group): a company-sponsored prize funded by Bantasy under the following published schedule: A$8 per league member per month of the competition's length (members × A$8 × competition length in months). A private contest carries a sponsored cash prize only where the organiser holds an active Bantasy subscription at the time the contest is created. The sponsored amount is fixed (snapshotted) at creation and published in that contest's rules before you enter.
- Organiser cancellation. If the organiser of a private contest later cancels their subscription, the contest's sponsored prize is unchanged for everyone else — the organiser forfeits only their own share of any prize at settlement.
- A prize is never a share of, or determined by, the amount of Bantasy Bucks used to enter or the entries collected. It is a company-sponsored amount, set and funded by Bantasy and published in the contest's rules before you enter.
- Prize splits. Where a prize is shared across placements (for example winner / runner-up), the split is fixed and published before entry (for example winner-takes-all, or 80/20). This distributes the single company-sponsored prize across ranks; it is not a redistribution of entrants' entries. Where entrants tie, the prize for the affected placings is pooled and split equally among the tied entrants.
- Only a winner, or a placing entrant under a published split, may receive a prize. No prize is payable to non-placing entrants.
6. Prize value and form
- Prize amounts are fixed and published per contest before you enter.
- Prizes are paid as cash in Australian dollars (AUD) to the winner by direct bank transfer, after the eligibility and identity verification described in Section 7. Prizes are not paid in Bantasy Bucks, and a prize cannot be converted into, or paid as, additional Bantasy Bucks.
7. Claiming a prize
- We will notify winners through the Service and/or by email after results are finalised.
- Before a prize is paid, you may need to verify your identity, age (18+) and location, and provide valid payout details.
- You must claim and complete verification within 30 days of being notified, unless a different claim window is published in the individual contest rules. If you do not, or if you cannot be verified as eligible, the prize may be forfeited and we may, at our discretion, re-award it to the next eligible entrant.
- We may withhold or decline to pay a prize where eligibility cannot be confirmed, where there has been a breach of the Terms, or where payment would be unlawful in your jurisdiction.
- Prizes are personal to the winner and cannot be transferred or assigned.
8. Winner publication
Publishing winners is part of running a transparent skill contest. We may publish limited winner details — for example a display name and the skill result (such as rank or margin) — leading with the entrant and their skill feat. We will obtain any consent required by law before publishing identifying details. You can ask us not to publish identifying details.
9. Tax
You are responsible for any tax that applies to a prize you receive. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and jurisdiction. We do not give tax advice and do not represent that any prize is tax-free; seek your own advice.
10. Responsible play
Bantasy is a skill game for entertainment, not a way to make money — Bantasy Bucks have no cash value and most entrants will not win a prize. Set your own limits, take breaks, and reach out if your play is becoming a problem. See the Responsible play page for support resources.
11. General
- We may amend these prize rules, and may vary, suspend or cancel a contest, where reasonably necessary (for example for legal, technical or integrity reasons). Where a contest is cancelled before entry closes, the Bantasy Bucks used to enter will be returned to affected entrants' accounts (Bantasy Bucks have no cash value).
- Our decisions on eligibility, results and prizes are final, subject to the published rules and any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
12. Promoter and contact
The promoter is Bantasy Pty Ltd (ABN 84 698 879 677), Australia. Questions and prize claims: admin@bantasy.co.
